Manufacturing

• Gregory Moore joined Energy Swing Windows and Doors as marketing coordinator/intern.


Banking and Finance

• F.N.B. Corp. announced that Robert V. New Jr., president and chief executive officer, will assume additional duties as president and chief executive officer of First National Bank. New announced the creation of an executive management committee to run the corporation's four functional groups: Vincent J. Delie serves as president of the banking group; Louise Lowrey serves as the technology and support group executive; Gary Guerrieri, chief credit officer, serves as the lending support and specialized lending group executive; and Brian Lilly, chief financial officer, serves as director of corporate services.

Accounting

• Alpern Rosenthal welcomed James E. McIntire as an accounting and audit shareholder.

• Sue Tonarelli joined Bookminders as a bookminder.

Legal

• David J. Rosenberg, a partner in the Pittsburgh office of Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP, was selected as a fellow of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.

• Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC announced that Greg Miller is a member of the firm's labor and employment executive committee and Mike Dever is a member of the firm's intellectual property executive committee.

• Richard H. Galloway was elected vice president of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's board of directors. He is a partner in the law firm, QuatriniRaffertyGalloway PC.

• John G. Wall, a member of the Pittsburgh office of Burns, White & Hickton LLC, was elected to the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.

• The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania announced that Gary G. Gentile, a partner in Goldberg, Gruener, Gentile, Horoho and Avalli, was named chair of the communications committee of the disciplinary board.

Advertising, public relations

• WordWrite Communications hired Natalie Farinacci as its summer intern.

• Brunner hired Jonathon Esack and Joshua Line as visual developers.

• Brady Communications hired Daniela Husarova as associate creative director and Aya Matsuo as a graphic designer.

Health care

Louis A. Baverso was named chief information officer at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC.

Technology

At FASTTAC, formerly FAST-CAT, Larry A. Krueger joined the firm as vice president of sales and Peter R. Theis as vice president of product management.

Nonprofits

• Rose Kelly, a physiotherapist who specializes in neurological rehabilitation, and Thomas M. Von Lehman, managing director of The Meridian Group, were elected to the Board of Directors of Family Resources.

• The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center hired Ranisa Davison as a birth parent counselor for the organization's adoption program and appointed to the administrative staff of its pediatric specialty hospital: Pat Hoolahan, admissions case manager; and Michelle Jamison, discharge case manager.

• United Methodist Foundation of Western Pennsylvania Board of Directors elected as officers: Chair Robert E. Harper, Springer, Bush and Perry P.C.; First Vice Chair Susan W. Wesmiller, director of nursing education, UPMC Presbyterian; Second Vice Chair N. James Sekel, Duckworth Haggerty Sekel Group, Merrill Lynch; Secretary The Rev. Donald G. Scandrol, superintendent of the Pittsburgh district, The United Methodist Church; Treasurer Thomas H. • Bach Choir of Pittsburgh appointed Paul J. Tellers chair of its board of directors. Tellers is director of planning at WTW Architects.

• Jennifer Callery, an attorney with Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, was named vice president of the board of directors of Preservation Pittsburgh.

• The International Court of Master Sommeliers recognized Danny L. Van Wie as a certified sommelier. He works as a server and wine sommelier at The Capital Grille.

Awards

• Dr. Andrew F. Stewart, professor and chief, division of endocrinology and metabolism, department of medicine, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, delivered The Endocrine Society's 2008 Gerald D. Aurbach Award Lecture, "The PTHrP Story : A Bedside-to-Bench Paradigm for Translational Research, "in recognition of his outstanding contributions to endocrinology research.

• Anita Ostrowski, assistant vice president, Western central station, Vector Security, won the 2008 Central Station Manager of the Year Award at the ESX conference.

• Lawrence J. Lennon, president of Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering Inc., was named Engineer of the Year by the Pittsburgh Post, Society of American Military Engineers.
